Captain Hammond is the brainchild of Mother Earth's Hammond organ hero Bryn Barklam.

More than a group, Captain Hammond is an audio-visual concept featuring the Hammond Organ Power Trio's rocking instrumental Hammond sounds accompanied by the cosmic comic book exploits of half man - half organ, and all hero, Captain Hammond!

Inspired by months of sweaty jamming in the infamous London basement blues joint "Frank's Bar" with long-time cohort Greg Boraman, Bryn began to blend his favorite musical elements into a grooving, Hammond flavored musical stew. After the addition of Greg's Reverend Cleatus band mate Pete Collison on guitar, the trio began creating some serious sounds - heavy, blistering, organic rock; gospel; 60's rhythm and blues; a hint of down-home funk and a cosmos worth of soul!

At the same time as the music took shape Bryn's fertile imagination and artistic flair also brought the character of Captain Hammond to life. A manga-inspired, valve-powered, space-age, inter-planetary warrior - fighting to rid the universe of the unfeeling, soul-less, machine-driven music constructed by his arch enemies The M E C H A N A U T S!

The result is out of this world! With Bryn's energetic organ style, Pete's biting R&B guitar and Greg's heavy soul drumming, Captain Hammond takes you on an inter-galactic journey - a swirling soundtrack of gritty, dance floor friendly R&B organ workouts with ground shaking and anthemic rock instrumentals and swinging Northern Soul style soul grooves.
