More Great Trop Rock from the Captain
author: William J. Keaton
A new twist on this CD, true stories set to music. The title track, Pirate's Confession and Port Royal are all based on historical events. But don't let that fool you, this CD is full of straight up Trop-Rock, Rock Steady and Rum is guaranteed to get the party started. Highly recommended by yours truly.

If only it came with a complimentary pina colada...

As you may have noticed, the name Jimmy Buffett is all over this page. And it's fitting; CQ started as a Buffett tribute band, they still play mostly JB stuff live, and he's the best-known reference point to describe this stuff with. But starting with their first disc and more so with this one, the Quintsters have always shown their own distinct identity loud and clear. In addition to that smooth tropical steel-drum sound, this album blends in some African rhythms, a touch of Latin tango, plenty of Jamaican reggae, Americana blues... it's all one tasty jambalaya. At heart, these are a bunch of really fun guys who love telling stories and making people dance in the process.
So yes - if you want something to spin at that beach party, if you're a Buffett fan, OR if you're heartily sick of Buffett but wouldn't mind some good-timey tropical songs you haven't heard two million times already, then you want this CD. Bottoms up.

Take me to the islands
author: QCPH
Very good CD. I purchased this completely based upon reviews that Captain Quint was in the Jimmy Buffett style of music. I am quite pleased and will be adding other Captain Quint CD's to my collection. Living in Ohio I don't to experience the islands first hand but popping this CD in the player at work helps take me there. It's a great listen!

This CD takes CQ to a new level. The music and production are great. Almost as good as seeing them live.
