Trumpeter Charlie Caranicas is a consummate performer of traditional and main stream jazz and has graced the stages of many of the finest jazz venues in the world. Charlie has been described as a "wonderfully musical, notably articulate" trumpet player with a "beautiful sound" and "impressive choice of notes," "lyrical and emotive," a "joy to hear" and "capable of making famous standards his own."
Pianist Tom Roberts is recognized as one of the world's leading stride pianists, and has performed all over the world. Tom has performed and arranged music for films, including Martin Scorcese's "The Aviator." Tom is also a jazz writer and scholar, and has spent years researching and restoring the music of pianist Lucky Roberts.
Charlie and Tom have come together for this duet project that has been called "consistently superb," a "refreshingly original treat" and a "major addition to the small discography of piano/trumpet duets in jazz."
