Album Notes

The vision of CARBON 9 was born 5 years ago in the psyche of vocalist Stacey Quinealty. While conquering the concert scene in and around his native home of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Quinealty said, "I looked around and saw people getting out of touch with humanity due to the advent of computers, the world wide web, cellular telephones, and technological advancements that were actually created to enhance the human life. During this time, visions would come to me about a futuristic world which had become void of the basic human elements of individuality, experience, emotions, and spirit." These visions would evolve into the music, lyrics, and visual spectacle that defined the band's acclaimed first release, "Systemaddict". Los Angeles audiences have been devouring the CARBON 9 live show for more than four years now. After more than three-hundred shows, many of them sellout performances, CARBON 9 was named Los Angeles Music Awards' "Best Modern Rock Band" as well as nominated for "Most Outstanding Live Performance" for 2003. These honors follow recognition from a variety of organizations including Los Angeles' Rock City Music Awards' nod for "Best Industrial Band" and "Best Male Vocalist". CARBON 9 is crafted by the charismatic Stacey Quinealty (vocals) along with the sonic crunch of Darwin DeVitis (guitars), the creative and artistic vision of Danny Cistone (backing vocals), and the pounding precision of rhythm section Curtis Porche (bass) and Matty Milani (drums). "Our audiences demanded a recording to take home with them that was as powerful as the live show. We took a long, hard look at our reflection and saw growth was a necessity for us to reach next level," says bassist Curtis Porche. The band recently headed to Landmark Studios in North Hollywood, CA to record their newest release "COTM, Renewed Beginnings". Mixing duties fell to award-winning producer and engineer Duane Baron (Ozzy Osbourne, Motley Crue, Tracy Chapman, Hoobastank, Poison) and Jimmy Boyle (Nirvana, Nine Inch Nails, Alanis Morrisette, Rasputina) at Banyan Tree Studios in Hollywood. "COTM" exhibits CARBON 9's musical growth as well as its freshly re-tooled edge - its hooks and craftsmanship guaranteed to satiate the band's faithful and convert countless newcomers. With a new disc, a revamped website, several videos, and songs in several major motion pictures, Carbon 9 has begun the advance to the next level. They are self-sufficient machine, accomplishing on their own what others fail to achieve with major-label backing. So to all those who might be wondering. "Who is CARBON 9?" This new monster band and Los Angeles favorite is ready for the world, and ready to create music history.
