CARELESS SHERMAN is an Indie band based out of Nashville, TN. As always with music, people want to categorize music into a very tiny little box to describe it. Musicians and Bands hardly ever want to put their music into that box but they recognize that if they don't, someone else will.

So here it is... CARELESS SHERMAN is indeed a band based out of Music City U.S.A. but is not to be confused with the signed acts that Music Row is putting out these days. There are elements of Rock, Country, Blues, and Pop in CARELESS SHERMAN'S music, but the sound is much more in the spirit of Seventies Southern California Rock Bands. Take all your influences and combine them into your own music. Don't worry about trends or fitting neatly into one genre. If it's supposed to rock, then let it rock. If a song is telling a story that lends itself more to an acoustic vibe, then make it that way. In other words, in a True Independent Spirit, just make the music you want to make as an artist and make it as good as you possibly can. That pretty much sums up CARELESS SHERMAN.

Transplanted to Nashville, Tennessee from York, Pennsylvania, musician, singer, songwriter Brian Pepo gathers some of his studio and gigging friends to record his songs. Careless Sherman is the band he created to accomplish his vision.

* Chas Williams - guitar, slidebro, dobro - Wynonna, David Gates (Bread), Nanci Griffith
* Including longtime friends, Washington D.C. "tele" hotshot Bob Hume, guitarist Ron Miller, and solo artists Luther Lewis and Michael Mason Bromley.

Bluesy country, the kind of songs you always want to hear on the radio but the radio just won't play. This cd is proof that good music is still out there and people still write and play for the love of it. From the tongue in cheek Can I Be Like You to the serious slice of rural life in The Mayor, this cd is full of cool songs and great performances..Buy It, Now.

Very nice job -- I like the "hard luck" point of view of the lyrics, and there's plenty of good hooks. My friend Bob Hume sounds great, and so does everyone else.

The idea of seasoned professional musicians taking a recording side-trip into a creative album project of cool songs and personal expressions is not exactly new, but it is usually a beautiful thing. What you get is accomplished players sinking their well-honed teeth into some music they truly love. Steely Dan and The Alan Parsons Project were examples of such a thing. Careless Sherman is the umbrella under which Brian Pepo paints his masterpiece. This music has a sense of humor. It is fun while at the same time proficient. A fantastic group of Nashville session cats.
