John Carelli is a tremendous talent with a rich tenor voice in the classic tradition of the romantic Italian tenor. From the light and lyric to the robust and passionate, John moves audiences with his magnificent vocal renditions which now may be heard on his debut CD; You are my love.

The CD features American/English and Italian classics and love songs. They range from the operatic, as in Puccini’s Nessun Dorma, to music from the Broadway stage; including such time honored standards as If I loved you, Younger than Springtime, as well as more recent favorites including The music of the night, from Phantom of the Opera, and Bring him home, from Les Miserables.

From the upbeat Chitarra Romana, to classics like O sole mio, Torna a Surriento and Non ti scordar di me, John’s Italian heritage comes through as he captures the enchanting spirit of the Neopolitan love songs.

Throughout the album, John transitions easily from lyric sweetness to the thrilling and powerful high notes unique to the tenor voice. He brings that passion to the disk’s title track; You are my love, a new song, written by John himself and debuting with this CD.

John’s performance background is diverse. He has sung with a variety of large choruses, small close harmony groups, as an individual soloist in various concerts and programs, and as a vocalist with a swing-era style big band. He has appeared in leading roles in various theatrical productions, both musical and non-musical. His stage credits include well-known plays and musicals such as Master Class and Hello Dolly.

He continues to appear in venues, public and private, large and small, always eliciting the same enthusiastic response to both the beautiful music and his extraordinary voice.
