Album Notes

The story of Carey West continues to unfold with her latest release - “Travel Light”. A collaboration with multi-instrumentalist Jeff Wilson, the collection reveals the duo’s diverse musical influences, drawing on bhangra, reggae, jazz, R&B, and folk to explore themes that hit close to the heart.

West is a celebrated Toronto fixture with over a decade of fronting bands such as The Millionaires, The Liquidaires and The Jeremiahs.

West claims several high profile performances to her credit including broadcast performances on CBC Radio One, live appearances at Harbourfront’s TO Twang Fest, Dundas Square and Nathan Phillips Square, and a residency at The Old York tavern.

Together West’s personal history and emerging career weave an evolving story of hard times, battles won and lost, thriving musical communions and deep affection and love for the many who have touched her soul through it all.

Carey West’s new album, Travel Light, was awarded funding from the Ontario Arts Council and is set for release early 2008.
