Album Notes

Carioca, a Brazilian musician from Rio de Janeiro, is a brilliant guitarist, vocalist and composer known around the globe for his virtuosity. His intricate rhythms, combined with rich harmony, create the beautiful colors of Brazilian music as interpreted through his extraordinary musical vision.

Carioca has developed a unique versatility and is at home with 6, 8 and 12 string guitars, bass, sitar, harp, synthesizer, kalimba, djembe, caxixi, berimbau, tambora and bongos. Furthermore, he is an exquisite, broad-ranged vocalist.

Carioca has performed internationally for over 25 years. His music is well known worldwide and in his native Brazil. In 2005 he played to an audience of 12,000 at the Tel Aviv Jazz Festival receiving 5 encores. In 2007 and 2008 has played at the prestigious Yoshi’s Jazz Club in Oakland and at Joe's Pub in New York and at the Dakota, St. Paul.

He has 15 CD’s to his credit.
