notes

Carla Ryder Acoustic & Live has been described as raw & rootsy, hosting insightful lyrics and irresistible hooks.

THE PRESS IS SAYING:
"Ryder's poignant vocals are soulful and soaring. Her swoops and glides are even more stunning than in her debut work. Here she is uninterrupted, simply and subtly building and blending her lyrics and melody to an emotional crescendo without seemingly exerting herself at all."
-Jay Miller, The Patiot Ledger

FANS ARE SAYING:
I just wanted to tell you I got the CD and I love it! You've definitely got one of the best female voices in music! I am also a fan of bands like the Corrs, Blondie, and the pretenders and you are definitely up there with them! If you don't win a grammy someday there's definitely something wrong. Like I said, great CD!!! My favorite songs are "Wrong Way Home" and "East Coast Thing." It was also great to hear accoustic versions of tunes off your first CD, especially "The Turning." I love that tune!

Hi Carla
I just wanted to comment again on how much I am into your new CD! That acoustic version of "Please Don't Go" is just so awesome. I also really like "Living Out Loud" and "What I Have" as well as the tunes I mentioned when I last wrote you. You've got a really incredible voice. I hope you play the Acoustic Cafe.

Best,
R.J.

"Carla Ryder Acoustic & Live" is a collection of 13 original songs from both her solo debut "Pulling Down Sky" and previously unrecorded tunes to be featured on her next studio album.

The songs were taken from various radio station interviews and live performances. The stripped down arrangement of the tunes: guitar, vocals, bass & harmonies allow for a bare bones and intimiate listening experience.

Carla released her solo debut, "Pulling Down Sky" about a year ago. Her more folk-oriented solo style won her instant credibility on the regional coffeehouse circuit, and her unique songwriting style helped get her tunes played on radio stations all over the country. The past year has been a whirlwind of activity, including national tours, and a burgeoning fan base in New England and beyond.

I have been a fan of Carla’s and the band for a while and enjoy their latest cd. “Acoustic and Live” really demonstrates the fervor this band has of live performances. The album seems to grab the taste of several live shows and bring the listener closer to the true feel of a “in person” acoustic gig. Carla’s continuous bravura for grammar makes every song a unique 3½ minute world. The only problem with this cd, is that you’ll have a hard time picking your favorite tune.
