Album Notes

Montana native and Harvard graduate Liz Carlisle was best known as a frequent opening act for country artists like LeAnn Rimes, Sugarland, Miranda Lambert, Travis Tritt, Little Big Town, and Diamond Rio during the touring seasons of 2006 and 2007. She began her career on the New England folk circuit while still a student at Harvard, opening for singer-songwriters like Richie Havens, Catie Curtis, and John Gorka, and released her first full record as a college senior. Five Star Day earned Liz press in the Boston Globe, Washington Post, and BBC and won her honors in several national and international competitions. She released a second record in 2007, Big Dreams, a Nashville studio effort that spent 18 weeks on the Music Row Chart. Although Big Dreams was Liz's most visible national release, she is perhaps best remembered for the song "Montana," the hit track from Five Star Day that remains a favorite in her home state.

Liz Carlisle is no longer touring, but questions about her catalog may be directed to Neale Eckstein at neale@foxrun.org.

Another great album from Liz. I am going to miss the live shows, especially Stone Soup Coffee House in Rhode Island and New Bedford Summerfest. All worthwhile trips to New England.

Not a country fan BUT..
author: Thomas E. Schneiter
And that is a big BUT! I love this CD! It would get 5 stars, but I know that's still to come. Liz is a wonderfully talented musician and songwriter and that voice of hers really gets to me. It's been in my car for about 3 weeks, and I drive about 6 hours per week. I've listened to the CD many times and am still enjoying it. Thanks, Liz! I look forward to your next one!
