Carmen's voice.
author: LJR
Carmen Leggio is a jazz musician who covers a large emotional spectrum; he is the person who plays the sax solo on Maynard Ferguson's classic recording of " Frame for the blues," and is also featured ( along with fellow saxophonist, Sal Nistico ) on Woody Herman's recording of " Hallelujah time." He can play swing right thru " hard bop " and beyond! But on this album he becomes a " crooner;" as much as Frank Sinatra, Tony bennett, Mel Torme, Julie london, etc.! Only his voice is the tenor saxophone. This album is loaded with great tunes, nice arrangements, and it keeps Carmen up front most of the time. If I only had two words to describe the music, I would say: Soothing & healing!! Hope Carmen decides to record more like this one!!
