notes
The drum solo, the traditional finale of a belly dancer's nightclub show, provides drummers and dancers alike with an opportunity to showcase their technical prowess. Designed with the drummer and dancer in mind, this CD illustrates a variety of drum solos incorporating variations in complexity, composition, and instrumentation.
All of the solos on the CD are a perfect length to be used in your shows.
On the beautifully crafted companion DVD, drummers Carmine T. Guida and David Buchbut play these solos live, with dynamic Arabic, Turkish, and Fusion improvisation from belly dancers Raja, Sarah Skinner, Autumn Ward, and dancer/drummer Bashirah.

Totally Awesome
author: Cynthia StueberI bought this cd after taking a drumming class with Carmine to learn some of the rhythms used by bellydancer and absolutely LOVE this cd! It was very easy to hear the beats we learned in class that Carmine played on this cd. The DVD is also a great companion to the cd.
Most excellent!
author: Kari JensenIt is as it says; drum solos. This cd is a good teaching tool (or learning tool) because it presents a number of primarily Egyptian drum solos in a very clearly recorded, easy to hear style. Not a lot of tricky ornamentation, so you can clearly hear the patterns and counts associated with Egyptian drum solos. There is also the added benefit of being of a high enough recorded quality to be able to plug any of these solos into a performance routine. Highly recommended!
Perfect belly dance cd
author: FarahThis is an absolutely perfect cd for all belly dancers and a must have for practice or performance. The songs are all just the right length. I would heartily recommend this to anyone who is new to belly dance and wants to learn Middle Eastern drum rhythms. I've also found that it's a great cd for zil drills. Great job, Carmine!
Great CD!
author: JennyThis CD is wonderful for all dancers- all the tracks are perfect for practice and performance! :)
Great CD
author: KalaaThis is a fabulous CD, with a lot to offer the beginner and advanced dancer. I was surprised by the diversity on this CD. It's easy to find the perfect length song to fit your routine. And, for teachers, it offers nice easy baselines to follow. I have already recommended this CD to my friends!
perfect for practice!!
author: vanyaIf you need to do basic drilling, complicated choreography, or even just practicing your zills, this CD is awesome for all that. I absolutely love it. Very upbeat and enthusiastic music. Makes me want to buy the dvd too :)
great clear simple solos
author: dancermomThis is a great CD for teachers and CDs. These are great, simple drum solos, and the sound quality is truly excellent. There is a lot of variety (different kinds of beginnings/endings, changes in tempoes, different kind of structures), so if you have a “favorite” type of drum solo, it is probably represented here. For teachers like me, I have been using this CD in my classes since it is a great tool for students to learn the rythms and the solos are simple for a cute quick coreogrqaphy. For performers it’s also easy to improvise to these solos in performances because the patterns are not to complicated. The DVD that goes with it shows you some ideas. Hubby says he is going to learn to play one of these solos for me that will be a whole lot o f practicing for him but it just might work ROFL!
