Album Notes

No carnival is complete without its carousel or merry-go-round. This is the most sought after ride and attracts young and old alike. The hand-carved animals and horses and the carousel are usually beautifully decorated and well lighted with myriads of lights reflected in the mirrored sections. The horses still have the fancy harness of ancient tournament mounts, bedecked with custom glass jewel ornaments. The heart of the carousel is the music-maker…the organ that sits in the center or off to the side, pouring out the nostalgic tunes to delight everyone. This is Sara Jane’s domain. There she sits awaiting the start of the action.
Sara Jane is a delightful Wurlitzer Style #148 Band Organ. The case is handsome in appearance and is made of quarter sawed golden oaks. It is has many brass and wooden pipes, drums and a cymbal. It was built in the 1920’s by the Wurlitzer Company.
Listen, as the music brings back pleasing memories of the carnival and the carousel.
