Album Notes

Carol Joy has balanced two careers as an opera singer and emergency room nurse throughout her life. With many years singing as a mezzo-soprano, her roles have included Cherubino in The Marriage of Figaro, Cosi Fan Tutte's Dorabella, Siebel in Faust, and Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus. She has toured the country extensively in these roles and just recently started to combine her two separate careers into one by bringing therapeutic music to those who are ill. She now works as a music practitioner in nursing homes, critical care units and hospice organizations. Patients and their family members often comment that the deep rich sound of her voice and the lower register that she sings in helps to soothe and relax them.

"We must sing...and, be sung to. Beautiful sounds on breath help us make meaning for our time here on earth together. Songs of living for the Song of Life. Carol Joy sings to us, whatever tribe we are from, in her beautiful voice, songs to help us all through , unto death."
- Dianne M.Connelly, Chancellor
