Biography
I write my own songs including lyrics, melodies,
and arrangements. Even though I was born in St. Louis, Mo.,
I grew up in the country and most influences came from spending summers on my grandparent's two hundred acre farm in the ozarks of Missouri.
Those memories helped me to paint pictures through song
lyrics. Grandma's diary is a true rendition of what life was like on that farm and "yes" Grandma really
did have a diary.
Very upbeat tunes are my favorites but I like writing a mix, even some grassy stuff and I love ROCKin guitar
in country music.
My original tunes and vocal style and phrasing was influenced a great deal by a mix of Elvis Presley, Tammy Wynette, Patsy Cline, Sammy Smith, and Shania Twain.
although my vocals are mostly compared to Patsy Cline in press reviews.
Of course other events in my life triggered ideas for
songs and I try to write positive messages and walk
the listener through the story with colorful images
through lyrics. The melody and lyrics usually come
to me at the same time but I do also get a song title
in my head and then build around that.
This is my second album but the first for having
written all my own songs which I also produced.
I have had airplay all over the world for which I
have received several awards.

Rich in imagery !

Carolyn's songs incorporate classic country instrumentation in musical settings that are uplifting with hints of bluegrass, pop and rock. Justice is a colorful storyteller writing real songs about hard times, life, love and summertime. Her ten-track collection is reminiscent of simpler times but rich in imagery and imagination. Carolyn's production style is clear-cut and her band is sharp. Justice has a strong, sweet voice combined with concise execution. The CD opens with the title track, featuring an up-tempo rhythm, twangy guitars and Carolyn's spirited vocals. It is followed by 'Rain in Arizona' a reflective ballad with shimmering instrumentation. 'Grandma's Diary' is a nostalgic tune accented by country guitars, fiddle and piano. Carolyn Justice may be Out Of The Fast Lane but she is on the road to success with her down-home original music!
