Car Radio Dog is a New Jersey/New York/San Francisco-based group of post-urban rock/pop/world/jazz storytellers and melodious shamans. It brings together members of great bands on both coasts, past and present: Mary Acord and Johnny Timpane of Joyce's Dawgs; Kevin Timpane of The Splewtones; Richard Lindsey, Steve Missal, and Kinny Landrum of Kips Bay; Megan Gould of Stereofan; Ted Klett and Bob Lewis of Snapperhead Zydeco; and John Stein of the Coalwalkers. Styles and genres pay homage to the music that makes Car Radio Dog sit up and beg: African, rock, barbershop septet, Brazilian, Steely Dan, Bo Diddley, and country. And it doesn't end there. Was it a labor of love, or just love of the labor? Either way, a lot of love and work went into the creation of FETCH!, Car Radio Radio Dog's debut album. Fifteen tunes explore the world, from amorous longing to extraterrestrial invasion, from traffic mania to cosmic loneliness, from festive copulation to goofy joy. No one has described this album better than its producer and lead guitarist, Richard Lindsey: "This recording always makes me think of a film festival for some reason. You got boy-missing-girl drama, you got comedy, you got nightclub sequences, you got slo-mo running along the beach of some warm and happy island, you got baby-you're-the-greatest affirmation, you got wide-angle-landscape adoration of nature, you got passio Christi, you got sly seduction, you even got a midnite horror movie. You got everything but the Steely Dan T-shirt (and actually, 'Maia' has that). What's not to like?" Car Radio Dog invites you to share the fetching experience of FETCH!
