Album Notes

Late last decade Mark Ireland found a four track recorder and Carrier was born. Using all the conventions of popular dance music Mark took recordings of improvised music played on orchestral and electric instruments and turned them into tracks of electronica.

Twenty artists contributed work on tuned percussion, vibraphone, marimba, drums, sitar, zengh (classical chinese harp), violin, concert harp, flugal horn, upright and electric and picolo basses, congas, timpini and harmonium as well as turntables, synthesisers, the spoken words of Ann Martin and the artwork of Jasper Russell and Lisa Faure-Brac

CARRIER is a Clan Analogue member
author: Anonymous Coward
CARRIER is a Clan Analogue member who recorded "The Foley Artists" at home on a 4 track. This may not be terribly amazing if it was just a cut and paste jobbie or a knob twiddler's delight, but this is a live project with no less than 17 people working on the tracks and contributing an amazing array of skills on tuned percussion, drums, elecric guitar, classical chinese harp, violin, flugal horn, concert harp, upright bass, timpani, turntables and synthesisers. The compositions are rich and wonderfully cinematic in style, amazing considering the d.i.y. electronic recording mentality that has brought the entire project together.
