John Is a very talented individual
author: Amanda Miller
John has a very innocent sound, and i think he will go far if he keeps it up. I like his attitude and the impression left upon me by him. He covers every element of a good album in this selection. I'd give it three thumbs up, if i had three, that is.

pop with a sugary confection that oozes out your speakers!
author: Nervous In Suburbia
If you like your music on the pop side, with a sugary confection that oozes out your speakers leaving you with that sticky happy feeling all over, then this is a must for your CD collection. Sounding like Matthew Sweet, Beatles, Beach Boys, Posies and the like, this is one CD that will not leave your senses alone. Long after you take the CD out of your player, you'll be humming these tunes, days later. But what makes this disc so fun, is the lack of taking himself so seriously, but keeping the lyrics on a humorous, almost novelty level. Everyone who has ever met one face to face, or is just sick of seeing the dead road kill on the side of the road, will appreciate the song, "El Possum." One of the most beautiful songs, "Hummingbird Feeder," is about being trapped in a hummingbird feeder and not being able to be with the one you love, who is always so close, on the other side sucking at your very existence. And anyone who's been in a relationship and knows all about the she said, he said, mars vs venus thing, will find great comfort in the lyrics "you're all mixed up/you're a Rubics Cube/I've got you figured out/I haven't got a clue" from the track titled "(Sometimes) All I Know Is Amber." And frankly, now that the Millennium bug is gone and done been squashed behind the cupboard, you can take comfort in the song "Radioactive Girl." What a horror it would have been if the only girl left on the planet was moving out of town. There goes the dating scene. Not to mention when your hair starts falling out. Where's the Hair Club For Men(tm) when you really need them? And of course one can only be happy and sappy for so long. Then you gotta ROCK! Let down your hair, turn on the tune, "Civic Pride," and rev up the Honda Civic. Man, can those 4 cylinders really purr, sister! And this challenge goes out to anyone who listens to the track "Love Songs On The Coast." I dare you to listen to this tune just once and be able to walk away with out humming this catchy tune ever again. A definite runner up for the first single. If this tune gets through half the pap on top 40, we'll never be able to think for ourselves again. Pour a little sugar on me, baby! I can't say enough about this CD. Buy it! We liked it so much we killed MIKEY! Oh sorry, I meant, you can purchase this disc through us(Nervous In Suburbia.) I don't know anything about MIKEY. Timmy must of done it. Destined for greatness

I heard john playing at a coffee shop, as I walked by the stage. After hearing perhaps 1 1/2 songs, I loved his style and bought the CD. I am a musician also, and hard to truly impress, but I am IMPRESSED. The lyrics are perfect; flawless, at times with an aluring simplicity, but able to speak to your soul. Great musicianship. I've never been interested in a group/CD from a coffee shop except for John Carillo. I would pay much more for john carrillo's album if he asked it. I was unexpectedly and pleasantly surprised. Great work John!
