Album Notes

Never Stay Down includes the original, stripped down Acoustic/Rock/Jam versions of several songs released on Jamie Carroll's "Self Titled" CD.

What truly shines through on this collection are songs like the first recording of everyone's favorite "Music Man" (which was literally recorded sitting beside a highway), Sacred Heart, Salt on My Plate, Wonder Years and the original version of "I Myself and Me" which Jamie still says is one of his favorite recordings to date.

With most of the songs being written and recorded between the years 2003-2006 in Elkin, NC at Gray Burchette's Humble Basement Studio Jamie gets personal and honest as usual lyrically while singing about true events in his own life and the people and places around him.

Mostly recorded in the winter months, there is a cold, ghostly feel to most of this recording and the songs are sure to find a place in every listener's heart.

As Jamie Carroll continues to say things through song that we have all been thinking in our minds he also reminds us to Never Stay Down regardless of the times life brings us down.

Warm, Loud Acoustic Guitar tones by Jamie and long time friend, Guitar Maker, Singer/Songwriter and Recording Artist Gray Burchette along with the chilling and beautiful Piano and Keyboard work of Keary Reid on most of this collection which features several other artists and personal friends who Jamie says he could never have made it without!
