In a time of multiple choices when it comes to singer-songwriters and guitar-based vocal artists, one could wonder just how anyone could stand out in the sea of many. To use the conventional promotional plans is to place your talents and gifts at the mercy of a fickled public and their ever changing ideas of what's in and what's not. But if you're Luke Carter of Georgia and you've traveled this musical road since the age of 14, publishing your first EP (Heather) at 15, now, at age of 30, you might need more than the world's comparisons to other artist as a promotional tool. You know the bios that read, "if you mix a little Jeremy Camp with Keith Green, you get so and so new artist!"
In a world of sameness, there's a unique voice named Luke Carter.
A singer, instrumentalist and producer, Luke is clear with intention as he prepares his new songs for a broader audience.
"I want to cater to people that are lost and broken, but also to help edify the existing believers of Jesus Christ. The first time I felt the burden of what singing words meant I was sitting on bleachers with a friend and listening to his song. From that point I knew God had called me to write music that causes people to question the deep mysteries of God".
"What We Speak" is Luke Carter's third digital release. After releasing "Heather" in 1994 and "Eternally" in 2004 Luke's new material will soon be available! "What We Speak" deals with the concept of "the more we speak about the more we give live to". According to Mark 7:14-23 Jesus states that "there is nothing outside the man which going into him can defile him; but the things which proceed out of the man are what defile the man". With this being true "what we speak" about can either be about defiling ourselves or edifying what we believe in. After realizing how strong our words are, Luke decided to create a record based on the true meanings of it's words. He leaves the audience to interepret.
