The Blind Fingers ep is the first studio-recorded release by Brisbane’s cartoon physics.

It was released on September 16 2008, with Pete and Sam producing all the songs and playing all instruments.

The ep contains alternate (earlier) mixes of Blind Fingers and Nuclear Winter than the versions heard on Per Ardua Ad Astra (cartoon physics' debut album), as well as 2 recordings that are not available on any other release:

Paperback Raita is an instrumental that takes some stylistic cues from mid-late period Pink Floyd, and Blind Fingers (John Cougar Mellencamp Mix) is a remix of the title track with all electronic instrumentation removed and replaced with acoustic instruments.

With its strongly melodic alt-pop sensibilities and carefully crafted songs, the Blind Fingers EP makes a fine addition to the collection of any connoisseur of guitar-driven alternative pop/rock, and is an essential inclusion for those keen on the work of cartoon physics.
