Somewhere between Dolly Parton, Patty Loveless and Linda Ronstadt lies an angel's voice that belongs to Amber Casares, sweet and vulnerable yet tough when she has to be.
Born in the rich southern California region that gave birth to the Bakersfield Sound (Wanda Jackson, Rosie Flores, Buck Owens and Merle Haggard) and country rock sounds (Flying Burrito Bros, Linda Ronstadt), Amber learned to appreciate the honesty of a simple song and a beautiful melody.
With her EP CD release "Can I Go Home With You", Amber gives you her own brand of country music. You may want to think Appalachian honesty mixed in with a modern day edge.
Amber takes from her musical influences Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt, Iris Dement, Patty Loveless, Wanda Jackson and Trisha Yearwood and gives you something all her own.
Amber's sweet angelic singing draws you, the listener in at one moment, exposing her pure heart and then follows that up with a hard driving, belt it out number letting you know she's nobody's push over or fool.

Why in the world is Amber Casares not a household name?

This 5-track CD contains a fantastic collection of expressive and powerful songs sure to please the country purist as well as the modern CMT crowd. I highly recommend you buy a copy but be forewarned - you will experience a MAJOR letdown every time you play the CD...but it's only because you're left wanting to hear more of Amber's incredible singing. As for me, I keep hoping for the magical appearance of a hidden track #6.

Moving Piece.

Amber is quite obviously an artist willing to give wholly of herself. Her songs are frank, yet moving and beautiful. At times, they are downright haunting. Her voice is tremendous and the guitar work on the album is definitely notable. This is a triumphant first work and I look forward to more from this true talent and artist.

"If you can do it . . . it ain't braggin'."

If an artist's talent can be "summed up" on a CD with five tracks that would be amazing. . . but I only have heard the two tracks sampled here . . . and I'm amazed. I hear "Gram Parsons/Chris Hillman". . . I hear "Tish Hinojosa" and "Carlene Carter" and I hear "country". Listening to this CD should prove that "the best" music is not always found on the radio dial nor on the televison channels . . . and that's too bad. This Ambers Caesares CD deserves to be heard by so many more . . . and I hope it is. A radio deejay I listen to always closes his program with the words "If you can do it. . . it ain't braggin'." -- On this CD, Amber Caesares "ain't braggin'" -- she can do it and she sure can sing!
