Album Notes

Anxious Knight is released in a limited edition and packaged in a handmade cd case. This album is the fifth and final installment in a cycle of recordings Brandt has been working on over the past four years. Each album in the cycle represents a period within a day.

Brandt covers a broad range of styles within the project, from folk and country acoustic tunes to metal-influenced rock, with a number of stops along the way. Anxious Knight is the most experimental / noisy collection of songs in the set. While the album has many straight-forward, driving rock moments, it is broken up by long, spacey, instrumental compositions. These are held together primarily by rhythm and noise patterns.

Since 1999 Brandt has recorded over a dozen albums and played in several bands. Upcoming releases include his second effort in a collaboration with Jason Gambrell (The Croup) and the swan song from the recently retired trio of Brandt, Bruce Engel, and Alistair Wallace (Satirius Johnson).
