Album Notes

Casey Brandt is a musician, writer and artist living and working in southern Maryland. He has recorded and released over a dozen albums on the label Mungler Winslowe, which he started with his wife Crystal in 2002.

Jumping Ship is a collection of songs written over the last two years Brandt spent in New York city. The songs address the disappointment, loss, and disillusionment he experienced throughout his drawn out break-up with the borough of Brooklyn and the city of New York.

Brandt lived in Brooklyn for nine years before returning to southern Maryland, where both he and Crystal were raised. While in NY Brandt played in the Beer (1999-2002) and Satirius Johnson (2003-2007). Since returning to Maryland he has retreated to his basement to write and record music in his home studio.

Jumping Ship is packaged in a handmade cd case and includes a short story (Jumping Ship) written by Brandt. The story introduces the major themes on the album.
