Album Notes

This album was conceived after many nights of lying in bed listening to such legendary recordings as; Alfred Hitchcock's" Ghost Stories For Young People", Boris Karloff's "Tales Of The Frightened" and Vincent Price's "Magic & Witchcraft". In addition, nocturnal readings of books such as Ray Bradbury's "The Illustrated Man", Robert Arthur's, "Ghosts And More Ghosts", Rod Serling's "Stories From The Twilight Zone" and Nick Redfern's "Memoirs Of A Moster Hunter" proved highly inspirational.

Most of this album was recorded at my family's rural estate in Elderberry. It was late October and as the last of the leaves fell from the trees in the forests surrounding the house and studio, and as the days grew colder and the nights became longer and darker, an air of gloom seemed to descended on the proceedings. One night near the end of the month, a bizarre incident took place just outside the potting shed at the edge of the north wood. Although the details remain sketchy, their was apparently some sort of assault or attack while Casey was taking a late night stroll around the property.
Although accounts differ, apparently several guests were awakened by a loud howling noise like that of a dog or wolf followed by someone yelling either, "Help", "It's got me" or "Fabric softener". Again, accounts differ and it was late.

By the time we reached the area where the commotion had taken place, Casey had barricaded himself inside the potting shed. No amount of coaxing on our part would bring him out and he stayed there for the remainder of the recording sessions. Subsisting on plain cheesburgers and Zagnut bars we slid through a crack in the door, Casey finished the vocal tracks using a microphone that was dropped through a hole that we drilled in the roof of the shed.

Upon completion of the recording sessions, we finally were able to coax Casey out with a six pack of Keystone Light and a box of Saltine crackers. Casey is currently in seclusion under Doctors care and heavy sedation. He is expected to make a full recovery. Although, various law enforcement and vigilante groups have combed the north wood in search of the elusive beast nothing has been found.
