A little slower
author: Trip
Casino Mansion's second release paces itself a little slower than their maniacally brilliant first album. Most songs seem to shed the strong sexually charged beats and lyrics for a more relaxed trip-hoppish feel. Don't get me wrong, I love Trip-Hop but I was looking forward to Casino Mansion's doors to explode open with another hard-hitting club destroyer, not songs that could easily be lost among ambient sounds of a hotel lobby. Of course I bought this album -- even with its flaws and lack of hard emotion, it's still pretty good. While listening, however, I'll be hoping Casino Mansion will bring back the feelings and emotions they conveyed on their hard hitting uber-sexy first album!

author: Nick D.
Like such breakthrough acts as Dirty Vegas, Kylie Minogue, and Goldfrapp, this bedroom-meets-dancefloor act offers a tawdry electronic mix of sleaze and sophistication. Very good party music, but like late night premium cable, Modern Cinema also delivers solitary thrills. Song titles like "Voyages By Chandelier" and "Drug Skinny" say it all. - Nick D.
