Album Notes

The San Francisco Bay Guardian describes the music as \"Bombay Zeppelin. \"Imagine Jimmy Page and Robert Plant riding through the desert, kicking up dust and camel shit at some Cairo bazaar, where Chrissie Hynde is sitting in with Jane\'s Addiction,
playing Black Sabbath and middle-eastern folk music.\"

Listening to Castles in Spain is like sipping red wine, smoking hashish, and drinking a shot of espresso. The music is an opiate, which transcends life\'s trials, delivering solace and the possibility of salvation. With a certain Castilian/Moorish flavor, Castles in Spain
takes you on a spiritual field trip through the darker recesses of the soul. Don Quixote meets Edgar Allen Poe.

Castles In Spain is fronted by lead singer, Biachi who continues the tradition of outstanding female rock vocalists to emerge from the San Francisco music scene. Her voice might have you doing a double-take for the name Grace Slick or Linda Perry. Biachi has written, arranged and produced 3 solo recordings, 4 full length CD\'s,and had the good fortune to cut some tracks with Eddie Kramer (Producer/Engineer for the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix). Completing the Castles\' sound are Joe Birtola on bass, Derek Richmond on guitar and Anthony Verdier on drums & percussion.

While quickly building a loyal fan base, Castles In Spain have been
usingtheir powerful performance style to benefit others. Biachi is the producer of annual Women Who RAWK events in San Francisco, which brings together local bands to raise both funds
and awareness for the Breast Cancer Fund.

Castles In Spain fans have been hounding their heroes for a handful of years at San Francisco hot spots like Fat City, 12 Galaxies, Great American Music Hall, The Red Devil Lounge and Slim’s. The band is no stranger to touring, extending their reach to San Jose, Monterey, Modesto, Sacramento, Chico, Los Angeles
and Las Vegas, Nevada.
