Album Notes

"One of the underground's best-kept secrets" (Tim Peacock, Whisperin' & Hollerin') CatDesigners soak up a lot of musical influences (including, but not limited to, Bowie, Beck, Brel, Blur and Buckley), add a splash of impressionsim, a twist of guitar artillery*, a dash of drama* and just a hint of small hours psychosis* before passing it all through a psychological filter. Here are some press quotes to tantalise: This is a better follow-up album than it has any right to be. While the first album showed a lot of promise, the second album allows Nick's visions to be fully realised. (6/6, Phase 9) There are some wonderful moments contained within these grooves ... Nick Troop is the man behind CatDesigners and I would encourage you to support his peculiar ways, wholeheartedly. (Zeitgeist) CatDesigners' second consistently fine album ... "Strange Little Creature" throws attractive musical shapes however many times you place it under the microscope. (8/10, Whisperin' & Hollerin') Nick Troop's haunting Morrison-meets-Byrne voice is hard to ignore or resist (Music Morsels) Dizzily dangling guitar chords with groovy bass and vocals that could blush the best of the business, "Strange Little Creature" is one of those albums not cut from the same stuff as the rest are. (Smother.net) At times trippy and psychedelic, at times rocking out or mellowing out, this release is creative to the point that not only is the music capturing, but the stories through these songs add pure substance as well. (Impact Press) * Thanks to Tim Peacock for these gems

Great album, grooves all the way through

I really enjoyed this album from the first listening. It reminded me of other music but had a rich quality all of its own. The tracks were consistently funky all the way through. Looking forward to the next installment...............

Bigger, better and brasher.

Strange Little Creature is a quantum leap from the first album, Chemical Jazz. Whilst the first was fresh and clean, Strange Little Creature has a raw bite that hooks you in from the first track to the last. Can it be faulted? Yes! But if it couldn't it wouldn't be worth listening to!
