Album Notes

"Monument salvages nuances often forfeited by convenient over-production associated with modern recording techniques. Thus, only the most soothing darkwave remains; branding Cathedral Park as a new melancholic delicatessen du jour ".
*Gothic Beauty Magazine

"This album recalls the cutting edge spirit of such scene pioneers as Bauhaus and Attrition while achieving its own unique sound".
*Grave Concerns Magazine

"Carefully crafted lyrics with open ended story lines create dark, depressive, surreal landscapes of dreamy sounds and a unique form of electronic darkwave".
*Loopzine Magazine

Cathedral Park is made up of Autumn (Vocals-Keyboards-Programming) and Bryn Shoop (Bass Guitar-Programming). Holding onto their originality and signature sound, Cathedral Park tends to use analog recording techniques, adding to the swirl of strings and backward masking pieces, held together by Bryn's deep bass tones and Autumn's up front Bowie-esk forward vocals. Carefully crafted lyrics with open ended story lines create imagery of dark dreamlike surreal landscapes; this album creates undoubtedly an atmosphere of despair and depression through a powerful harmony of sounds and lyrics that few other dark bands have succeeded in creating. Influenced by such artists as Peter Murphy, Depeche Mode, early Cure, VNV Nation, Wolfsheim and David Bowie, Cathedral Park can be described as dark wave, electronica or synth pop.
