I wrote this song after returning from a Gay Christian Network concert a few years ago. I was so struck by the beauty of a room of LGBT Christians (and a few of us straight allies) openly worshipping God even after so much rejection from the Christian community. Having been kicked out of their homes and places of worship, some as recent as the week before, and facing criticism for being sinful simply because unique gifts that God had bestowed upon them.

I just wish more of them could see the beauty and the gifts that the queer community has to offer. These wounded soldiers truly have a wonderful view of faith and, to me, an indisputable message of God's constant, enduring love. An example we all as Christian's need to follow.
