Two songs. It’s not a very long album, but then again, sustained concentration has never been my strong suit.
“What I Want” is supposed to be chirpy and chippy, like Tabasco sauce on your breakfast eggs. It’s a song about dragging my friend Emma onto the Dance Floor of Life; a song about how sometimes, no matter how much you want to play it safe, you have to take a chance.
“Empty” is that sound the screen door of your heart makes when Hope walks out and it was all your fault.
But you guys knew that.
