Album Notes

Cats Like Angels was the band formed by Melissa (Mentus) Mulligan and Ellen Lalicata when they were in college in the 90's. Their friendship and musical partnership guided them through several stages of their lives, including the release of their full-length album, "Validating John," in 1999.

The most obvious comparison is the Indigo Girls. When two chicks write catchy songs layered with bold harmonies, what else is one to think? But there are so many little quirks (and out-takes) throughout this album that the girls were often compared to The B-52's as well.

Currently these ladies have separate solo and band projects, including Melissa Mulligan's solo album, "Love This Life," and Ellen's newest adventure, the all-original band "Jet Black Jane." They remain the best of friends and share the stage (and some wine) together whenever possible.
