Album Description
Cause and Effect's Robert Rowe and Keith Milo follow-up 1999's introspective "Innermost Station" with their most ambitious release to date, "The Sunrise EP." An electronic fusion of perfectly constructed pop arrangements against a backdrop of late night chilly beats and endearing uptempo vibes. Intelligent thought provoking lyrics and pleading melodies embedded in lush sonic soundscapes that are sure to captivate the senses of even the most discriminating listener. Led off by the deeply infectious first single "Into the Light," The Sunrise EP's aural collage of five emotionally engaging tracks range in style from the seductive progressive house beats of "Sunrise" to the acoustic driven bliss of "Stay." Also included on the EP are remixes by Ryan Cosboom of Halou (Nettwerk/Nettwerk America) and Andres Oscuro (Moonshine.)

As good as electronica gets.

This is the latest in a string of solid releases from Cause & Effect. Sunrise EP not only contains my favorite dance song of the last I Don't Even Know How Long ("Sunrise"), but also a nice mix of "real" instruments with the electronic ones on "Stay" and "Vicarage Road". Every time I listen to this record I find some new bit of sound that I hadn't heard before. Dense, but not crowded. It's quite the trick to pack so much into a song and not have it come out a muddled mess. I cannot praise this album highly enough. In fact, the only thing I have against it is that it isn't longer! But since I have been personally promised that a full length release is on the way, I'm not going to hold it against them.

Quietly continuing to produce excellent electronic music, Cause and Effect strik

Having been a fan since their first album (Another Minute), these gentlemen have moved on from being a serious Depeche Mode clone, to being a seriously excellent dance/chillout band with a distinctive voice. This new EP is more mellow and favours more the laid back groove and the understated melody over the catchy pop hooks of earlier endeavours (and to excellent purpose). Great party/dinner/post-club album.
