Album Notes

Songwriter, producer and outstanding vocalist, Ty Causey has now released his strongest project to date with the highly anticipated EXPRESSIONS. This excellent release is certain to satisfy established fans and woo even more as he delivers his trademark blend of smooth R&B, sensual soul and more.

His fantastic debut N-TYSING (later re-released as N-Tysing Rekindled) and solid follow-up LOVE NOTES, both popular titles on CDBaby, marked the overdue emergence of a vocalist primed for addition to a list of the industry’s best and quickly garnered much acclaim from both fans and critics worldwide. As a result, several tracks from the two CDs as well as the CDs themselves made there way to “best of” list and still enjoy frequent rotation on radio programs in both the U.S. and abroad. “ One of the best male soul singers we've heard of late, and an artist with a sound that should be getting him big play in years to come,” declared a top on-line music resource. This assessment is widely shared with many betting that as solid as these two projects were his next would indeed be the breakout. Before official release Ty Causey’s EXPRESSIONS is already being considered his best and primed to prove them right.

As on his prior projects Causey displays his engaging tone, great range and silky smooth delivery along with an apt compliment of thoughtful, moving lyrics that delve through the spectrum of life and love’s best and most challenging moments. It is, as always, a joy to behold as he lays it down with a charm and swaying sincerity on winning cuts throughout. Cuts such as lead singles "Heartbreak Paradise" and "Pick Up the Pieces" - the tempting, "So Addictive" - "Dark Cloud" featuring solid work from standout guitarist/producer U-Nam or the very beautiful "Wishing You Were Mine." But also on EXPRESSIONS are even more memorable melodies, infectious grooves and his identifiable growth as a first-rate producer. As premiere on-line site, Soultracks.com states, “Ty Causey has taken a strong, creative turn on Expressions that should provide ample material for both smooth jazz and UAC radio to highlight for some time. It should also accelerate his growth as one of the most enjoyable adult soul singers around.”

For the already established fans, the wait is now over and the best is finally here! For those new to the sound of Ty Causey with the advent of this stunning release prepare to be soothed into singing his praises and counting yourself amongst those keen enough to contribute to his continued rise!

There is so much to rave about this cd in its entirety from the smooth sensual intro invoking a an amazing audio pleasure throughout to the end. The only complaint I have is that the experience should have lasted longer. (smile) So happy to have the pleasure finding and of listening to this most soulful, expressive voice.

A Few More Comments

I remember when I first heard this album. I was cooking myself my favorite speciality dish - duck feet on toast. I had stocked up with oils and was ready for an evening of back to back episodes of Baywatch, when suddenly Track 13 hit me. That was Monday, and I am only now coming to terms with the brilliance of this album. Track 4 is very special as it has funny sounds - the only way to express them in written form is "uuhh uuhh uuhh uuhh" "BBBBRRRRR BBBBBRRR". I think you get the idea. Weeeeeeee. Listen to this album in your car and you'll be nodding your head as you drive along. I did and set off the airbag.
