They say the "third time's a charm," and that is certainly true in the case of award-winning independent singer/songwriter, Courtney C. Patty. I Am, Courtney C. Patty's third full-length release, is her most revealing record yet. I Am is an acoustic folk-rock collection of songs that beautifully demonstrates the tight acoustic chemistry, intimately vulnerable lyrics, timeless melodies and intense harmonies that fans have come to associate with Courtney C. Patty's music. However, I Am stands apart from her previous works with a new musical maturity, a certain confidence and a sense of declared independence. Through I Am, Courtney C. Patty's talents and capabilities as a writer and performer are exposed as they never have been before.

Courtney C. Patty began performing at an early age, both in the classical and contemporary realms. After years of independent songwriting came the decision to record her first release, Seasons Change (1998), which she describes as a "leap of faith and a labor of love." Shortly thereafter, she released her sophomore effort, Waiting on the Universe (2000). And now, she is proud to promote her strongest effort yet, I Am (2002).

As her performance and songwriting continue to mature, Courtney C. Patty is being met with well-earned successes. In the past few months she has charted at Number 8 on KnotRadio's playlist (Phoenix, AZ); she is being featured as one of the country's up and coming female guitarists on Lady Six String (www.ladysixstring.com/artists/folk/courtneycpatty); she has been picked up by Rock101 Promotions as one of their primary artists and as a showcase artist for their Women Who Rock campaign (San Jose, CA); she has received two Best Performance acknowledgements from the Northern California Songwriters' Association (NCSA); and she has won two Best Song awards from the NSCA for the song which became the title track of her new release, "I Am."

Courtney C. Patty is also starting to attract international attention. She is being featured in a Singer/Songwriter edition of Papermoon (Germany); and she has been included on a limited-edition release of independent artists being presented at an international music conference (The Netherlands) by gold-record producer, Cookie Marenco.
