Carl Winkler began his musical experience opening for Mr. (Wings of a Dove) Ferlin Husky at Lancaster WI with his brothers Leon, Gerard and a friend Mike Schneider. It was little more than a garage band called Country Gold. Since then he has worked with groups Sage, ( LaCrosse Wis. and Viroqua, Wis. ) Bullit, The Messengers, ( Potosi, Wis ) The Hard Times Band, ( Monroe Wis. ) Ridge Rangers, ( Dubuque Ia. ) Massey Road Band ( Dubuque, Ia. ), At the Famous Silver Saddle with Harold Dean and the Last Ride Band ( Pueblo CO ), and the Wundo Band, ( Platteville Wis. ) He also started the up and coming band The Back Home Boys with Greg Webster. A little Back Home Boys trivia: Thier first shows (as a four piece band) were at New Diggings Wis., (where the bands name was thought up at the insistance of the owner Robin..she did'nt like Winkler/Webster as a band name, which we were doing as an accoustic set).,first gigs were also at Beetown Wis. and Bobs Bar in Praire Du Chien......... While with the bands, Carl opened for such acts; as Head East, and country singer Daryle Singletary.
May 2008 Carl recorded, mixed, mastered and performed keyboards and backing vocals on Sonny Hoods new Gospel cd.
2006 Carl was in a video with the group No Rest For The Wicked which aired on channel 19 Pueblo Co.
Using the Heartland Studio in Galena Il., Carl customized Gotta Start Quittin to be used in a Diet Center commercial in Dubuque Iowa.

This CD is great - the music has a sound of it's own, but the voice reminds me of some great artists from the past like Roy Orbison or Elvis...definitely some talent there!
