A sound of strong Celtic roots with a mixture of bluegrass with just a touch of jazz. With the accessibility of Nickel Creek to the traditional sounds of the Chieftains, they wrap up a great blend of spirit and warmth.

Album Notes

Cele De (pronounced kay-lee day) is an eclectic quintet of Irish/Celtic genre. The band members, ages 17 through 20 are Olivia (flute) and Robby Valderrama (acoustic guitar) Peter (percussion) and Amy Kistler (violin) and Samuel Davidson (also on violin).
The band came together in March of 2002 to provide music for an educators' conference. They had prepared several selections of both classical and Celtic music. The people at the conference overwhelmingly received them and especially enjoyed the Celtic numbers. On the second day of the event, they recorded six songs in the main conference hall, burned their EP CD, and sold over 60 copies in one afternoon!

They all felt the birth of something special and decided to move forward. Accordingly, they began expanding their repertoire and playing at various venues. Everywhere they played they were encouraged with comments like, "incredible," "awesome," "fabulous," "fresh," and "so talented." Soon, a friend who owned a recording studio (www.corneroftheroom.com) decided to invest in the group and they started to work on their full length CD, "Mist on the Mountain." The CD was released in March of 2003, and remains a hot seller. Purchase your copy today!

Excellent group!
author: Ronda Mullins
My fiance, Jim, and I, are both a lot older than the kids in the group. But we loved those kids anyway. We don't think there could be a better young teen or adult group around. It has become one of our favorite cds. And we just loved it. It was like a breath of inspiration in listening to it -- they should audition at Silver Dollar City in Branson, Mo. (We live right next door). During the spring they have about a week for young Christian groups to come in and perform.

The music is upbeat and gets your toes tapping!

The instrumental pieces are invigorating. The melodious tunes lend themselves to both active and passive listening. Not sure how I know, but the musicians seem to be having lots of fun!!!

A Celtic heart with a christian soul
author: Gert van den Hof
I was very surprised to hear real Celtic music, mixed with other styles and above all the Christian believe these youngsters dare to show. Though I hesitated where to place it in my collection, but it is so Celtic that I put it in my Celtic department.
