Album Notes

The solo debut of Celeste Donohue, "Everything in Suite D", is the culmination of story-telling put to music. Performing on stage since the age of 12, Celeste is looking towards a bright future in music.

Prior to her collaboration with producer Alvino Bennett, whose extensive credits include Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, and Bryan Ferry to name a few, Celeste was an organizer and key member of L.A.'s "Women in Blues". This all female, 14 member band played benefits at L.A.'s House of Blues, the Troubador, and other notable clubs, and donated the proceeds to abused women and children shelters. Although she's been involved in various bands and projects in the last 10 years, "Everything in Suite D" is what she's most proud of thus far.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Celeste began her musical career at age 10 with the flute as her instrument. The daughter of a funeral director and growing up in a funeral home, playing music could only happen at certain times of the day, so Celeste started writing lyrics when things had to be kept quiet. Upon entering high school, there was no music program available (Celeste is a big supporter of the "Save the Music" program), she turned her focus towards singing. Also a classically trained dancer, Celeste's original plan was a move to New York. However, an opportunity arose to join a band which required that she move to L.A., which is what she did. After a few years of various projects, she decided it was time to pursue a solo career.

At a second meeting with Alvino Bennett, they co-wrote the single "Black & Blue" which later landed on the FMQB chart. Many songs followed which resulted in her first solo effort, "Everything in Suite D". As for the future, Celeste is looking forward to writing and recording many more songs. A dynamic singer, an intimate lyricist, and an exciting performer, Celeste has the ability to transcend audiences with her music.
