Celestial Static is Julie Elzerman (lead vocals and guitar), Jeremy Elzerman (bass guitar), and Jason Morris (drums). Jeremy and Julie have been playing in bands together since 1996. Celestial Static originally formed in 2000. Jason joined the band in March of 2004. Celestial Static has defined a unique sound of thick, spacey guitar over energetic drums, and driving bass. Their musical style is found in a similar vein as Veruca Salt, Smashing Pumpkins, and old-school Radiohead. The sound is made complete with catchy, melodic female vocals mixed into the contrast of the edgy rock grooves. "Celestial Static offers hope for those looking for a young band not infused with the current nu metal/hardcore/hip hop trends that currently rule music" (Phantom Tollbooth).
Celestial Static has made their mark at many notable Chicago area venues such as The Metro, Hard Rock Café, House of Blues, Double Door, and The Abbey Pub. They have also performed outside of the Chicago area at such places as The Hurricane (Kansas City, MO), Indiana University, and Augustana University. They have also had a lot of radio play in the Chicago area.
Celestial Static released a 7 song EP, entitled Rumors of Snow, in December of 2001. Their second CD, Everything I Don't Want, was recorded and engineered by Steve Albini at Electrical Audio in Chicago. This 5 song EP was released in May of 2003. In August of 2004 Celestial Static released a three song single CD called Circles. Celestial Static's debut full length CD, Between Chaos and Melody, is also now available (2005).

vast improvement from early Cornerstone Festival days!

My first contact with Celestial Static was when they were playing on a roadside stage at Cornerstone Festival. This cd is testament of a tight rock production. "My Last Fuse" is what I am sure God thinks about me most of the time!!
Recommend you buying this.....and coming to hear them at Cornerstone Festival 2006.
