Album Notes

At last arrives testimony to the collaboration between Hans-Joachim Roedelius and Alessandra Celletti. It has been little over a year since the guru of German electronica worked with the visionary Roman pianist and composer in memorable concerts events which undoubtedly served as "training" for this wonderful album, where the symbiosis between the two musicians is such that the listener cannot tell at any particular moment who's on piano and who's splicing the inventive synthesizer sounds. No doubt coming from among the best brainchildren of the genius of Roedelius, the pieces follow one another with noble grace, caressing the chromatic sensations that transfer from the musical to the optic: "Purple", "Magenta", "Lilac", tonal poems in themselves where the beauty of the form touches erotic linguistic ecstasies. The oblique "Our North", entrusted to the voice of Alessandra, is where time appears to follow new rules. While "Rilke" offers ambient suggestions in the profound reciting voice of Joachim; Alessandra recites in turn in old Corsican the slippery "Strecciatu", a salty Mediterranean mantra. A revisiting of "By this River", written by Roedelius with Brian Eno appends a final magic touch to this album of magical, vanguardian romance, in which the sequence of the compositions flows organically as a train of thoughts, in the very atmosphere where the joint partnership between la Celletti and Roedelius touches peaks of perfection while profusing such an emotional load as to merit at many moments the adjective "masterpiece". --Massimo Marchini, Rockerilla magazine, 9 out of 10 -----(Update: Alessandra and Roedelius performed "Sustanza di Cose Sperata" in San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York City during December 2009.)
