They're back!
That's right, just in time for the season, Celtic Elvis has released Kill a Tree for Christ - after all, it is such a festive sacrifice.
The marauding heavy mental folk band that brought you songs like "Little Head", "Singing in the Acid Rain", "America (is only as good as your next door neighbor)", "Male Pattern Numbness", Love as Real Estate (you're my fixer upper)" and "The Road to Gridlock" has turned their fiercely satirical eye to one of America's most cherished traditions - the Christmas tree - and they rip it right out of the ground, roots and all.
Todd Rungren, Christine Lavin, and Dirty Linen ("Some of the best satirical songs you're likely to hear") are all fans of this crazed, irreverent yet insightful folk band. They have been called "The ultimate party band for people who think too much and as much fun as folk music gets."

** Mini CDs will play in most CD players, including most portables. They usually will not play in slot loading players (the type sometimes found in car stereos).
Lyrics:
Kill a tree for Christ
It’s such a festive sacrifice
Wrench it from the ground
In the name of glad Tradition
Throw it in the trunk
And tie it down with cords of bungee
You need the needles every year
‘Cause you’re a Christmas junkie...
I said chop that puppy
Stick it on the stand
Smother it with tinsel
God’ll understand
I said saw that puppy
For the Holy Man
Come New Year's Day
Just throw it in the can
The Aztecs killed their lambs
The Mayans killed their precious virgins
The Moslems don’t like cameras
It's religious superstition
So kill a tree for Christ
It’s such a festive sacrifice
We’ll celebrate with sugar plums
For all the stumps in Christendom

Arborial Advent mis-Adventures!
author: Edward Burke, College DJ and Christmas Junkie
A quirky little song about a common, Western, holiday family ritual. Topical, compelling, conver-sation starting, four-part harmonies, even a rap....yep, this song's got it all!
The musical arrangement is a bit peculiar, but the lyrics are great and the vocal delivery is outstanding. I definatetly reccomend this song to anyone looking for something new to play this holiday season.
Sure, it depletes our natural resources, but if it's for relgious reasons, by all means....kill that tree!!! Martin Luther did so with the very fist Christmas tree and so should you.
