Combining the talents of members of three of the renaissance faire circuit's most popular musical acts, Celtic Mayhem has been entertaining audiences with their unique brand of Celtic folk music since the Spring of 2007.

Featuring Ty Billings (Minstrels of Mayhem) Martyn Wylde (Wyldefyre) and Jack Stamates (Generica/Avalon), Celtic Mayhem have developed into a true "Celtic power trio".

Performing in pubs and clubs, private events and at faires and festivals, the band plays Celtic traditional music, folk songs and original material - adding a crowd-pleasing Mayhem twist to every performance.

Musician Bios:

TY BILLINGS
Born into a musical family. Ty Billings has been in the music business for well over 30 years. He attended college in Los Angeles and Northern Iowa studying music theory and composition. Ty started and played in the band The Strangers in Nashville, Tennessee for nine years, writing and performing many of their original songs.

He formed the nationally known Celtic band The Minstrels of Mayhem and traveled with that group for over sixteen years as lead singer. He has produced and written songs on more than six CDs with MoM as well as recording his solo CD, “Take the Boy Out of the Country”. Many of his original songs have been recorded by other artists.

Ty has written and produced the music for several theatrical productions. Among them are “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” and his own musical entitled “A Light in the Dark (A Rock Nativity)” and contributed two original songs to the Celtic Mayhem CD.

JACK STAMATES
Jack is a staggeringly talented multi-instrumentalist, who plays fiddle, recorder, crumhorn, shawm, cello and guitar.

Jack studied Irish fiddle technique under the legendary James Kelly and has played in an array of rock, country, renaissance and Celtic bands including Avalon.

Jack’s recordings span the range of his musical interests and include an album of songs and dances from the 14th Century, a collection of Scottish tunes with Jennifer Licko and tracks on three recent platinum-selling pop/rock CDs: Shakira’s “Donde Esta Las Ladrones” and “Laundry Service,” and J. Lo’s “On the Six. Jack was responsible for the engineering and production on the Celtic Mayhem CD.

MARTYN WYLDE
Founding member of popular renaissance faire act Wyldefyre, Martyn Wylde has been a professional musician and actor for more than 40 years. His smooth tenor and astonishing 3 1/2 octave vocal range had him headed for a career in music from an early age.

After more than three decades of a demanding touring and recording schedule both as a band member and studio musician, Martyn left the rock scene behind to try his hand at yet another musical genre; the folk music of the British Isles.

Martyn's signature fingerstyle guitar and pure tenor voice have been featured on three Wyldefyre CDs. His own CD, Minstrel's Lament, has just been completed. Featuring both traditional and original material, it is truly a solo CD, in that Martyn plays all the instruments and sings all the parts. All these CDs are available here at CD Baby.

With an extensive repertoire culled from the rich folk traditions of Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales along with his own original songs, Martyn Wylde continues the legacy of minstrels both olde and new - adding his distinctive talents to Celtic Mayhem.
