notes
Celtic Soul...
"a group composed of transplanted Celts and U.S. natives steeped in Celtic tradition, plays energetic rocked-up versions of trad tunes as well as their own originals in the same style. High-energy performers who bring a fresh touch to this often explored territory, the Jacksonville Florida-based group has translated that enthusiasm to their debut self-produced CD...." - Dirty Linen Magazine
About The Band...
In the summer of 1998, Nick Watson - drummer, percussionist... and Jana Light - vocals, bodhran and guitar..., with the services of various local musicians, formed Celtic Soul. Based on the music of the Celtic Nations and the power of contemporary rock, their music has continued to grow and evolve. Since then, the band has teamed up with new members and long-time friends, Trevor Tanner with his precision guitar work, vocals and penmanship and the fiddle of Lori Poteat, a young fiery fiddler who in the last couple years has thrown herself into the cauldron of Celtic styles that the band so often draws from... This band with the present lineup has the genuine song writing talent and longevity to garnish any venue or Festival and ultimately push Celtic music into the mainstream. Together they have been winning over audiences in their hometown and up and down the east coast where Celtic Soul has developed a diverse crowd of followers.

LOVE you guys!
author: MishelleI saw Celtic Soul a few years ago in Savannah, GA for St. Patty's Day. my friends and I stood right by the fence surrounding the stage the whole time they played. that is, expect for the times I was doing Polka in the middle of the crowd with one of the guys. it was a truelly memorable time, because of Celtic Souls music!
I love this CD
author: TeresaI bought this CD because I heard the song Katie Love on a Celtic radio station. I have a daughter named Katie, so, of course it has that sentimental appeal. I love Celtic music and I have listened to this CD every chance I get from the moment I received it.
Loved it!!
author: shannonI heard Celtic Soul in Savannah,GA during St. Patty's Day, a few years ago. I bought their CD then and listened to it so much, I had scratches all over it! I needed to buy it again because I LOVE IT!!!
I miss them so bad!!!!!!!!
author: tedThis is a great CD, as all of the cd's they made! it's only 2 weeks away from Return to the Green, where I first saw them! Love the haunting voice of Jana, and Lori can really rub that fiddle!!!!

This is what I call my "feel good cd" the songs have such a happy rhythm. I absolutely love the fiddle! The music on this cd is almost mesmorizing in a sense that it just leaves you with such a great feeling of delight! I would highly recommend it to anybody that appreciates real celtic music that comes from the heart.
So Beautiful
author: PeggyHas been one of my favorites for a long time. The perfect blend of Celtic, folk, and soul. I wish they had done more!
Enough to Send You Tripping Across the Fields.
author: P.L. MillerIf you like your Celtic music on the upbeat side, you'll love this CD. It's a little more "pop" than I normally listen to, but it works wonders on even the most stubborn black mood. Jana Light's voice soars beautifully, the Hammond organ lends a pleasantly unobtrusive presence, and the unique interpretations of classics such as "She Moves Thru the Fair" are really not to be missed. Light offers an amazing vocal performance on "Molly Brannigan," and the medley on Track 2 winding up with "Humours of Tulla" brightens the day better than a prozac cocktail.
