This is the soundtrack album to the musical comedy "GENERICA" by acclaimed NYC improv theatre troupe: CENTRALIA, comprised of Matt Higgins, Jay Rhoderick, Kevin Scott, and Joshua Sitron . "Generica" which debuted to sold out houses and rave reviews at the 2002 International Fringe Festival, was created by recording completely improvised shows, taking the best material from them, writing it down, and then losing that paper that they wrote it down on.
The show begins underground in a coal mine beneath Centralia, Pennsylvania where a fire has been burning for the past 40 years. But this show has nothing to do with Centralia, Pennsylvania.
HEAR! Russian Painters in New Jersey!
HEAR! Pothead Getting His Shit Together!
HEAR! The World Blow Up!
Highlighting the vocals of Jay Rhoderick, who orginated the role of Officer Lockstock in Urinetown, and musical chops of Joshua Sitron, composer of Nickelodeon's Dora the Explorer, GENERICA will have you laughing, crying, and then feeling embarrassed that you were moved by something so patently ridiculous.
The show’s grand finale, ‘Holy Shit’ was immortalized in August 2007, when the Showtime Network used it as the centerpiece of their On-Air Promo campaign entitled, ‘The Best Shit on Television’, featuring a montage from the Original Series: Weeds, Dexter, the Tudors, and others, in what may be the first R-rated ad campaign in the history of American Television.
Created in the proud spirit of: the Simpsons, the Onion, Monthy Python, the Producers, SNL, the Kids in the Hall, and Fiddler on the Roof, "GENERICA" will delight people who like the afformentioned things.

I too am a SHOWTIME subscriber and wanted the song and found it on CENTRALIA cd GENERICA. I was very pleased that not only did I have the original full length version of the song {Holy $hit}, but funny comedy to listen too also.

I originally bought this cd because I loved the song "Holy Shit" on showtime, but I really love the whole cd. I wish I could have seen the show. The singer of "Holy Shit" has a great voice. Keep up the great work!
