Album Notes

Silver Condor "Live Across America" was recorded at different venues large and small during the summer of 1981. That was the year that Silver Condor attempted to take flight. In a leased Dodge extended cab van they started in Los Angeles and worked their way across America playing a series of 30 one-nighters ending in Dover NJ. Like a shooting star Silver Condor got lost in the corporate halls of Columbia Records. At that time at Columbia Records, one hand didn’t know what the other one was doing. There are are casualties all along the road to success. With a little luck some bust on through to the other side. It’s said that some of the best music doesn’t make it to the radio. Well, this cd proves that to be a fact.
Everyone in the group went on to become successful in their right. Earl Slick went on the have hits of his own and back to being David Bowie’s top choice guitarist. Joe Cerisano went on to become the top session singer American has ever known. John Cory and Jay Davis found success playing with Rod Stewart and Don Henely. Drummer Claude Pepper went back to being one of the top session drummers in LA and started the top R&B club band, Jack Mack and The Heart attack. Together Silver Condor was something really special with a timeless quality that only the best groups possess. I’m sure you’ll agree that even after all these years Silver Condor can take flight and soar with the best.

What a Shame...

This Artist deserves a 5 star rating! Not only is Joe Cerisano one of the world's greatest, yet mostly unknown, singers, but his songwriting abilities rival the best! And, yes, it's a shame that Joe did not become incredibly famous due to his many musical and lyrical talents. But, justice has many faces... And, maybe, because Joe does not remember or give credit to the little people, of which he was one once, that Karma has taken hold. Such as the young woman who was his best friend and companion during the "R Band" days, the same young woman he asked to go to Hollywood with him that fateful night in New Jersey. The woman who sat next to him in that Volkswagon Beetle, traveling mile after mile with him... to West Virginia to see his family, and Graceland to see the home of "The KIng", and arriving in Hollywood that first, exciting, frightening night in Hollywood...with no more than two pairs of jeans in the car herself. Who sat side by side with him at Venice Beach and helped influence and write such songs as "Angel Eyes" and more... Yes, Joe Cerisano shall be known to all who have heard him sing and all who believed in him, as one of the "Great Unknowns". But had his heart been as awesome as his voice, maybe, just maybe, life would have brought him the fame and recognition he deserved.

Catch Flight with Silver Condor!
author: Dave Haines

Silver Condor was a band I first heard about from articles in the local newspaper back in 1981. Joe Cerisano, lead singer of this Los Angeles formed band, was from my hometown here in West Virginia. These articles detailed the rock and roll escapades of Joe and his band who were on the verge of making the big time as they built a following in support of their Top 40 Hit "You Can Take My Heart Away." I still remember driving one day and hearing Dick Clark play this Silver Condor hit on his top 40 radio show, Dick Clark's National Music Survey. I never got to hear Silver Condor live, but did get to see Joe sing their songs whenever he played local venues on his visits back to West Virginia. Now, twenty-five years after the fact, we can hear Silver Condor ROCK again with this great live set from their only national tour. This CD is a true testament to what they were and what they could have been had only they gotten the chance. What you'll hear is a collection of great performances that potentially contained even more hits for the band. Sadly, the original Silver Condor never got their just dues in the way of the support they deserved from the powers that be in the music industry. Joe Cerisano's songwriting and soaring vocals carried though to a second Silver Condor LP, "Trouble At Home" that is essentially a solo recording as equally riveting as the debut album. If missed the first time around, catch flight with the great Silver Condor!

Well Worth The 25 Year Wait!

It was 25 years ago I sat up in my room and tuned in a local radio broadcast of a band passing through Cincinnati called Silver Condor. After hearing Joe Cerisano's soaring pipes, Earl Slicks raw, tight and memorable licks, I ran out to get a copy of their debut album. This amazing new CD brough those same chills back! If you've never heard this band, and you claim to love music...don't miss this hidden gem. And if you DO know Silver Condor and haven't bought this yet, you need to seek professional help!
