Milwaukee's Certain Stars presents their second release "Wired for Sound", five new songs of melodic powerpop. The recording captures the immediacy and high energy of the band's great live shows.
Putting the rock back in indie rock, the album comes charging out of the gates with the two-chord surf-tinged rocker “Wired for Sound”. All you need is love? "For sound, it seems, is all I need" sings Kyle Hernandez. Indeed.
“Can U Dig It?” starts with an anticipation-building riff that would fit right in an AC/DC classic. Garnering heavy airplay on RadioMilwaukee 88.9FM, it won their "Kick Ass Guitar Riff of the Year Award" in 2008.
The Superchunk inspired “Slow Down Quickly” is an infectiously breezy tune that will have you pogo-ing in your head!
A huge hit on their MySpace.com page, the sock hop rocker “highschoolalloveragain” tells the story of band to band politics. "It's like highschool all over again!"
The album closer “(You’re A) Caution” finds the band adopting a grinding riff and the dirty sexed-up vocals of Iggy Pop.
Certain Stars lives by the motto "write good songs and play them well". Wired for Sound reveals a seasoned powerpop band playing with conviction and confidence.

Great rock CD...period.

This is a great rock CD with good songs, period. Certain Stars excel by not taking themselves too seriously while still being able to rock out. No heavy metal rap or drum machine beats or even Justin Timberlake . . . just good songs, unique personality and an overall fun CD.
