Album Notes

This album jumped from VT to NY to be finished. It was started in a barn in Mt. Holly, VT w/ Nick Hoffman on drums Andrew Towl on bass and Jeff Poremski on guitar. During tracking , Chad met Giovanni Hidalgo at a KOSA percussion conference in Castleton, VT and had him over to the studio. He guested on Keep On. We were about finished tracking and Chad met John Alagia (Dave Matthews, John Mayer, O.A.R. etc...) at a wedding in The Hamptons. They jammed at the pool the day of the wedding and Chad sent John a cd of the material. He loved it and wanted to work on it. So, off they headed to Applehead Recording in Saugerties , NY w/ Mike Birnbaum and Chris Bittner to finish this record that needed some help. At the end , the product was amazing and is a classis favorite of Chad's fans to date. Jack O'Neill of Jackopierce fame sings backup vox on "Dream Until You Fade" and their tune "Vineyard" is also covered on the disc. "Home" is one of Chad's fav's because of the VT roots but also the killer mix (Chad's acoustic going thru a 6" old Gibson amp the size of a toaster oven. "Makes Me" has Jared Johnson (The Samples) on the bass and Jesse Bastos and Thom Carvey are also featured on bass. Hope you dig it!

Overall, good sound and vibe from the album, "Life"...I was interested to see how Chad sounded with John Alagia at the helm, favorite on the cd is "Vineyard" without a doubt, although it is a good cd it isn't my favorite work from Chad. "Life" definately has a John Alagia sound to it, similiar to a John Mayer/Jason Mraz feel. If you like this album check out "Spirits". Saw Chad in Okemo, VT doing an acoustic gig at an irish bar, the name escapes me now, but he is definately talented live acoustically.

Hey they can write a song, and they can play their instruments. They are good at both but not great. there's a lack of content or flash to this album the songs are simple and have cliche'd drum licks and poppy chord changes. if you need some driving tunes or just some background for a party like get together its good but its not something I can just sit down and listen to strickly for musical content.

This cd makes me sing and dance. Great songs with catchy lyrics and a sense of humor....I can't get them out of my head. It's the same feeling I got the first time I heard Jack Johnson's brushfire fairytales.
