Career Beginning:

Chad Garrett is an incredibly talented singer and songwriter.

He began at a young age listening for hours on end to the rock music of his favorite artist, Elvis Presley. With lots of practice, he was able to duplicate the sound so well that in his early 20s he was asked to perform demos of the rock music and ballads of other songwriters to submit to Elvis Presley for his recording.

Meeting Elvis Presley:

Chad was elated to have the privilege of meeting with Elvis Presley in his trailer while Elvis was filming the movie Change of Habit with Mary Tyler Moore. Elvis asked Chad if it was him singing on a demo of a ballad. Chad replied that it was and he had done the best he could. Elvis smiled and told Chad - you sound more like me than I do.

Music in a variety of genre:

Chad has written many of his own songs and recorded them in a variety of genre including rock, pop, country rock, blues and ballads.

Influences:

In addition to the unequaled legend Elvis Presley, Chad Garrett was influenced by rock and roll great Roy Orbison and the easygoing, charismatic sound of Dean Martin.
