Album Notes

Born and raised in rural Saskatchewan, Chad Linsley started playing the piano at age 3, imitating his father and captivated by a collection of old vinyl recordings of jazz legends. By age 16, he recorded his first CD with The Jazz Ambassadors, a group formed during a summer jazz workshop in Regina. In 1998, Chad moved to Montreal to study at McGill University where he played, toured, and recorded with the McGill Jazz Orchestra under the direction of Gordon Foote, studying piano with Jan Jarczyk, Tilden Webb, Andre White, and Tom Plaunt. Among numerous club dates and recordings, he traveled to China with Juno award-winning drummer Jim Hillman and bassist Brian Hurley. His recent work as an educator has earned him a teaching award from McGill's Schulich School of Music and he has been a course lecturer at Brandon University. Chad has just released his debut album of original compositions entitled "Slideshow." Based in Montreal with his wife Charmaine, he is a sought after soloist, sideman, arranger and studio accompanist.
