Chad Perron, Claude and Kathleen’s third child of four, was born in Claremont, NH and raised in a small Baptist church. Love for music started at an early age with a brown-eyed, three-year-old boy getting help from his Mom to request “Rhinestone Cowboy” from bands playing at family weddings, and in granting Uncle Arthur’s requests for a song on his Mickey Mouse guitar. God’s grace was revealed to Chad in the caring and forgiving lives of family and church family who loved him through his failings and shortcomings. His love for the Lord grew in his years at the church-school from which he graduated in 1993.
Following Dad’s recommendations for college, Chad went on to complete a bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies with a minor in psychology (because he only needed a few more classes to get the minor anyway). The purpose in choosing this field of study was unknown to Chad other than his desire to know the Lord he loves and to honor his father by “getting that degree”. It became clearer as love for music re-entered the picture with Chad’s little brother, Nathan, coming home from college and teaching him to play the guitar – something Chad had tried to do several times in the past under the instruction of his close cousin, Peter.
Compelled to write, Chad timidly began sharing his music in evening services at church and hasn’t quenched his desire to write music for God’s glory since. He and his friend, David Faro, were able to complete Chad’s first CD project, “This is Only a Test”, in October of 2002 with the help of David’s home computer digital recording program.
On December 30th, 2002, at 11:50pm, Chad met his wife at a New Year’s celebration taking place at another local church. Chad and Vanessa were married six months later on June 21st, 2003. Vanessa has been Chad’s encouragement and inspiration from the Lord to press on in sharing the songs inspired by God’s Word with others. Vanessa’s straight forward talk and matter-of-fact approach has been used by God to bring out the best in Chad and her voice echoes the one flesh intention of God in a marriage when they sing together.
